BEATLES, COBAIN, EVH, FLOYD: For Sale Again

When Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay died this past May at age 65, he left behind not only an NFL team, but also a collection of guitars he amassed that Guitar World magazine says is “The Greatest Guitar Collection on Earth.” Those guitars and other iconic instruments and memorabilia will be auctioned by Christie's starting in March at their New York showroom.

Included in the collection are David Gilmour’s ‘The Black Strat’ Fender Stratocaster, Jerry Garcia’s Tiger, the Fender Strat that Bob Dylan played when he went electric at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, Dylan's working lyrics for "The Times They Are A-Changin'." Kurt Cobain’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” Fender Mustang, Eric Clapton’s psychedelic “The Fool” SG, John Lennon’s Sgt. Pepper piano, Ringo Starr’s drum set from The Beatles’ performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, and Paul McCartney's studio lyrics for "Hey Jude.” Free public exhibitions will accompany the sales at Christie’s, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to philanthropy championed by Irsay throughout his life.

Jon Bon Jovi Talks Aging And If He's Had Any Work Done

Ya gotta admit, Jon Bon Jovi looks good for a man creeping up on senior citizen status. Sure, he's rocking grey hair, but at least he's still got some, right? The musician was on the "How To Fail" podcast when the subject of aging came up. Naturally, he says he'd rather look like he did in his 20s, but he's comfortable with how he looks at 63, and he's not turning to doctors to turn back the clock. "Well, I’m fine with it, I’m not gonna ever get work done and my hair is gray and at least I still have all my hair," Jon said. "I haven’t had any surgeries, operations, Botox injections, eye jobs or lip jobs or whatever the hell else you do these days. I’m not interested in any of that, nor would I do it." He says his stylists were constantly coloring his hair until he put a stop to it. "I hated that. So, I just said, ‘Screw it,’ like 12-13 years ago. I wouldn’t do that, and so I had to come to terms with aging."

Steve Martin Shares Text Exchange The Ended With HIm On An Aerosmith Track

We told you that Steve Martin brought his banjo skills to a new version of the Aerosmith / Yungblud song, "My Only Angel." But how exactly did that seemingly odd pairing come to be? The comedian/actor/musician revealed on social media the text exchange that brought it about. It would seem both Steve Martin and Steven Tyler know each other, but not well enough to be in each other's contacts, since they both say they got the other's phone numbers wrong. After that initial miscommunication, Tyler sent the song to Martin so he could construct an instrumental break they could incorporate into their "Desert Road" remix. Once Martin recorded his part and sent it back, Tyler was enthused. "Steve… thank you sooo much for playing along with the song. We laid it in and wa-la," he wrote. "You made the acoustic version of the song so so much better… now that’s something to talk about on 'Kimmel'. So love your spirit. Yee Hahhhh."

GEDDY LEE: One Win Away

Geddy Lee predicted his Toronto Blue Jays would defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers in six games and that could be the case this Friday night as the World Series shifts back to Toronto for

Game 6 with the Jays leading three games to two. The Jays have been averaging just under six runs a game in the Series and Geddy thinks their new hitting coach, David Popkins, is part of the reason why. "One through nine in the line-up the Jays can hit. I mean you're talking about a team last year that struggled to score runs -- a lot of one run games that they lost. And this year they're a completely remade team, but a lot of the same players. So, what changed? The only thing we can look at is the hitting approach that Popkins has passed onto our guys and they look like a completely different squad. They put the ball in play. They go up there with smart at bats. They don't strike out as often, certainly not as often as they used to. They're a pretty disciplined team."

Geddy, a Jays season ticket holder, will be at Game 6, which stars at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.

Geddy has posted a photo on Instagram of being at Game 3 in Los Angeles Monday with Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. He wrote, "How can you beat being at the World Series watching an 18-inning game with the best effin’ dude! Thanks, Chad for a great night despite that game’s final outcome…. We made up for it next night. Now go Jays!!!"

The Dodgers won 6-5 and they stayed for the full 18 innings.

ROLLING STONES: Struck Gold 55 Years Ago

This Sunday, November 2nd, marks 55 years since The Rolling Stones' second live album, 1970's Get Yer Ya-Yas Out! was certified gold for sales of 500,000 a month after its release on October 2nd, 1970. Certified platinum in 1989, the album was recorded on November 27th, 1969, which was Thanksgiving, and the 28th at Madison Square Garden in New York. One of the album's 10 songs, "Love in Vain," was recorded in Baltimore on November 26th. The album cover shows their late drummer Charlie Watts wearing a white T-shirt with woman's breasts pictured on it jumping in the air holding two guitars as a donkey stands nearby with two drums strapped to its back and a guitar around its neck.

In addition to such classics as "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Midnight Rambler," "Sympathy for the Devil," "Honky Tonk Women" and "Street Fighting Man," the album is also memorable for Mick Jagger telling the crowd that he "busted a button on me trousers. You wouldn't want me trousers to fall down now, would you?", or the woman in the audience you shouts out to him, "Paint it Black, you devil!"

Jagger says it's his favorite of the band's many live recordings. "I always say Get Yer Ya-Yas Out. It was just a really good show and it was a really good tour and there was a lot of really good playing. I mean, it was an exciting night and it was captured well."
