Hate running? Join the crowd. Weather it's the cold/heat, dogs/animals attacking you...it could be just being outside because you would rather be watching your favorite shows. TikTok to the rescue.
A TikTok trend is promoting high-intensity interval walking as a way to improve health. It's using interval walking instead of running, and you alternate between fast and slow walking for 30 minutes at least four days a week. Why does this work? It lower will help blood pressure, build muscle, and enhance aerobic capacity. All from walking.
I used an app that was called couch to 5k, where you would use the same theory to train for a 5k, and it was awesome to have your music in your ears, starting with a brisk walk, and then jog, and back to a walk. So it sounds a lot harder than you think. But this trend could make getting healthy even easier.
Does it burn more calories working out this way? No, but it dose help you get motivated to at least get moving with a walking routine.
No matter what you do to keep healthy, this could be another tool to add to your belt.
Happy Walking, walking faster, then back to walking!!
