Starbucks Wants You To Sit And Stay A While

No more drive thru for you when you get your daily pick up. Starbucks wants you to sit and stay for a while. Why rush?

Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol announced plans to restore “hundreds of thousands” of seats across North American locations as part of his “Back to Starbucks” initiative. He wants to make it a “third place” between home and work, moving away from the current grab-and-go model. So why not? Sit down and stay for a bit, use the wifi, shave in the bathroom. All the things you did when you weren't in such a rush.

They're even bringing back ceramic mugs, and refresh pastry selections. Which means an extra $12 when your kid asks for the cake pops.

The new seating will feature modern versions of the signature purple chairs you love. The big thing they're planning on bringing back, the importance of personal connections, stating, “There are these examples where people walk in and the barista knows them so well that they’ve already made their drink before they’ve gotten to the register. I wish every single one of our transactions was that intimate, that personal.”

Does this mean they'll be writing your real name on the cups now? or will mine still say Jarred? Whatever. Sit down and stay a while. Maybe I can just move in? The couches are nice too.
